01.12.2009 - 19th Century Architecture Monument Brought Down in Sochi
A monument of architecture, the country house of Vasili Khludov, the founder of the Sochi Riviera Park, has been demolished as non-restorable.

The house will be built totally anew. As the website of the Riviera Park mentions, the country house of Vasili Khudov (a representative of a well-known family of Russian merchants) was constructed in 1896 and is one of the oldest buildings in Sochi. The two-storeyed mansion was built in the style of Old-Russian palace architecture with elements of modern.

The building had not been restored for about 20 years and was in a very bad condition.
