13.11.2009 - New Manned Spacecraft to Travel to the Moon
Russian engineers are currently working on a shuttle manned spacecraft, which will be able to take travellers to the Moon and back. Current project of the ship provides single-use propulsion system for orbital manoeuvring, while all other vehicle systems would be reusable up to 10 times. Russia still heads the rating of manned space exploration vehicles production, according to space authorities. In order to fly to the Moon, the vehicle needs following improvements: more sensors and extended thermal protection. New ship, aimed at replacing УSoyuzФ, will seat 6 people Ц two pilots and 4 passengers. Source: RIA Novosti
